Lead Stages

Where a lead has got to in its own life, before there is a deal to move. Create the stages your floor actually argues about, colour them, order them and rate them, and six fixed categories keep the reporting comparable underneath.

Six categories, and a record walking the stages

What you can change on it

Pick any stage above. Colour and order are yours on all of them; the name is the one that depends on where the stage came from.

A record moves by having its stage set, and the stage is a row rather than a hard-coded enum. Retire one and the leads on it are set to no stage rather than deleted, so nothing is lost when the pipeline is reorganised.

The mechanism

How it works.

01

Make your own, and they behave like any other

A stage is a name, a colour, a place in the order, a description and a category. Add as many as the floor needs and rename one when the vocabulary moves on: the record points at the stage rather than storing its spelling, so every lead sitting on it follows without being touched.

02

Six categories, and only six

Every stage belongs to one of them: new and initial contact, qualification, engagement, sales process, and the two outcome buckets. That list is fixed on purpose, because it is what keeps a report comparable after somebody adds four stages. Which one a given stage sits in is yours to set, on the seeded stages too.

03

Temperature travels with the stage

Hot, warm or cold sits on the stage rather than on the lead, so moving a lead re-rates it and nobody keeps a second field in step. A stage can carry none at all, which is the right answer for the ones that mean finished rather than cold.

04

Eleven arrive so nobody starts on a blank page

New Lead, Attempted to Contact, Contacted, Qualified, Not Qualified, Interested, Meeting Scheduled, Proposal Sent, Negotiating, Converted, Lost. Coloured, sorted and rated before anybody opens the settings page, and yours sit in the same list beside them.

Where it sits

One moment in every record.

Every record passes through the same seven. Lead Stages is the lit one, and everything either side of it is a different page in this category.

8 facts
Catalogue
Eleven seeded stages across six categories, plus as many of your own as you add
Categories
New contact, qualification, engagement, sales process, and two outcome buckets
What you set
Name, colour, order, description, category, temperature and whether it is live
Temperature
Hot, warm or cold, or none at all where the stage means finished rather than cold
Ordering
Sort order is what the picker follows, and reorders in one call rather than one per stage
Names
Held unique across the catalogue, so a second Qualified cannot be created beside the first
Retiring one
Take it out of the live list. A stage still under a lead is not removed until the lead moves off it

12 capabilities

The system of record the phone writes to directly - no sync job.

Lead Sources

Ten sources seeded and sealed, your own added beside them, each with a colour and a live count, and one stamped across a whole import rather than per row.

Custom Fields

Eleven field types, all of them on the picker, with options, defaults and a section of their own, on leads, deals, products and vendors. No cap on how many.

Field Groups & Layouts

Sort the fields you add into named sections with their own colour, order and table visibility, then grant or withhold a whole section per permission profile.

Advanced Filtering

Eighteen type-aware operators, a trigram search across seven columns, and a straight account of where a custom-field filter is resolved and what it costs.

Bulk Actions

Tick rows and reassign, export, delete or enrol them at once, filtered per record by permission, so a mixed selection returns a verdict per row.

Bulk Import

Upload, map, review. Headers auto-map against the full field catalogue, imports stream so memory stays bounded, and a failed row never stops the run.

Duplicate Detection

Matched on normalised email then phone, at the moment a record is written, so the duplicate is caught on the way in rather than found in a report later.

Activities & Timeline

Every field change on a record with both values, beside the notes, mail, tasks and deal links against it, assembled as it happens rather than typed up later.

Touchpoints

Calls, voicemails, emails and texts merged into one chronological history per lead, attached by the number they reached, with duration and the wrap-up code.

Tasks & Reminders

Tasks with assignees, reminders, comments and templates, raised by hand or by a sequence, and the only CRM object that leaves the app to find someone.

Roles & Permissions

A role tree, sixteen org-level flags, per-entity CRUD and sharing rules across branches - so a BPO runs several clients on one tenant, safely.

Goals & Leaderboards

Ten measures over six windows, with attainment read from won deals and logged work the moment you open the target rather than filed by hand or overnight.
