Ring Strategies

Same members, same queue, six different answers to who gets asked first. The choice is a load question rather than a matching one: everybody at once, strictly down the list, or spread so the same two people are not carrying the floor.

The mechanism

How it works.

01

Together, or one at a time

Ring all fires every member's phone in the same instant and the first to pick up keeps the call while the rest are hung up. The other five walk the list a member at a time, which is where the order starts to matter.

02

What each one sorts on

Hunt takes the list as written. Fewest calls sorts on how many each member has answered. Random shuffles per call. Round robin resumes after whoever last won. Priority sorts on rank.

03

The rotation survives a restart

Round robin's pointer to the last member who won is written through to Redis per queue. A dispatcher restart picks the rotation back up rather than starting everyone from the top of the list again.

04

Rank widens the ring each round

Members carry a rank, all equal by default. Under ring all the first round rings the top rank only and each round after adds the next one down, so a call spreads outward instead of ringing the whole floor at once.

Where it sits

Two moments in every call.

Every call passes through the same seven. Ring Strategies is the lit ones, and everything either side of it is a different page in this category.

8 facts
Options
Ring all, hunt, fewest calls, random, round robin, priority; ring all is the default
Ring all
Every member originates in parallel, first answer wins, losing legs are hung up
Rounds
Ring attempt defaults to 30 seconds, then the round repeats after about 2 seconds
Fewest calls
Sorts on calls answered, rank tier first, list position as the tiebreak
Round robin
Last-winner pointer stored per queue in Redis, so it survives a restart
Rank
Per-member penalty, 0 for everyone by default; ring all adds a tier per round
Wrap-up
Members who hung up inside the queue's wrap-up seconds sit the round out; defaults to 0
Not offered
Longest-idle-first is a legacy value, not one of the six. No ordering reads talk time

21 capabilities

Flows, queues, oversight and compliance screening on media we operate.

Call Flow Builder

Thirty-nine nodes across nine categories. Drag them onto the canvas, connect the branches, and dry-run the whole path before you publish it.

Listen, Whisper & Barge

Three states of one connection. Hear the call, coach the rep without the customer knowing, or join outright - and the audio path redraws as you switch.

Predictive Dialer

Open more lines than you have reps, paced against live answer rates, and hold the abandonment cap you set. Every connect opens the record it belongs to.

Power & Preview Dialing

Set the mode per campaign. Preview lets a rep read the record first, autodial moves on after wrap-up, and power opens several lines per agent.

Answering-Machine Detection

Detection listens to the first moments of a connect and drops greetings, dead air and IVR trees. What lands in a headset is a person who said hello.

IVR & Auto-Attendant

Build the menu callers hear as a step in the flow, with fifteen starting templates from a plain auto-attendant to compliance-screened inbound.

Queue Callbacks

Offer a callback after a wait threshold or a queue position, hold the caller's place, and dedupe requests so nobody gets rung twice for one problem.

Transfer & Three-Way

Hand a call over cold, or consult first and then connect. Merge into a three-way and step out, leaving the other two talking without a drop.

Call Recording

Each side of the call is recorded on its own channel, so who said what is a fact rather than a guess - and the transcript inherits that separation.

Dispositions & Wrap-Up

Wrap-up codes that do something. Twenty-six behaviours fire off a disposition: raise a task, book a callback, set do-not-call, flag the wrong party.

Smart Caller ID

The number most likely to be answered is chosen per call, ranked on the history with this lead, the overall answer rate, recency and area-code affinity.

Compliance Screening

Screen callers against Federal DNC, known TCPA litigators and your own internal list - as drag-and-drop steps inside the flow, before anyone is reached.

Phone Numbers

Search live carrier inventory, filter by country or by digits the number ends with, and claim it to a flow or a person the moment it is yours.

Toll-Free Numbers

Toll-free sits beside local as a first-class number type, routed by the same flows and billed from the same wallet as everything else you own.

International Numbers

Numbers in the countries you operate in, drawn from four carrier providers, so opening a new market is a purchase rather than a procurement project.

Extensions & Webphone

Every rep gets an extension and a browser phone, and can move a call between the browser and a desk phone mid-conversation without dropping it.

Voicemail Boxes

Organisation, team and personal mailboxes with their own access rules and greetings, and every message transcribed and attached to the right record.

Business Hours & Holidays

Reusable weekly schedules and holiday calendars in your own timezone, so out-of-hours routing is a setting rather than a flow you rebuild each December.

Live Call Monitoring

Every call in progress on one screen, pushed as it changes rather than polled, with the agent, the number presented and the queue each one came through.

SMS & Text Conversations

Two-way texting from the same numbers you call on, threaded per contact and landing on the same record, so the text and the call are one conversation.

Media Library & Voices

Upload a recording, record one in the browser, or generate it from text in a chosen brand voice - then use it in any flow, queue or mailbox.
